Frohawks with irregular cornrows for your afropunk (or jewfro-rockin') sims.

I love frohawks, and us straight-haired people already have tons of different TS3 hair options, so I figured I'd see if I could do frohawks some justice.  This was my first hair mesh ever. (And holy crap, I can understand why a bunch of hair makers end up going pay!)  There was a crazy amount of work involved to learn, make, and troubleshoot this, so I hope you all enjoy it.

These are enabled for all ages and genders.  Poly count is medium/high at around 7700.

Lots of thanks to BloomsBase & CmarNYC for answering my questions, Hysterical Paroxysm & Delphy at MTS for the tutorials and programs, and WesHowe for the Milkshape plugins.

Edit:  I just noticed that Tifa made a sim with this hair. (And I love the way she styled her!  I wish I could leave a comment for her!)  It looks like she has a better computer/graphics card than I do, and she took some nice, higher quality pics of the hair.  You can check it out at her blog.

Had to comment when I saw this!

This is just one of those rare finds that I couldn't just download and not leave a comment and usually I don't comment no matter how much I love an item.

I have a sim that is so going to rock this hair like it's nobody's business. I can surely appreciate the time you've put into making this and gladly want to say thank you for sharing. It's beyond awesome! My game is sorely lacking in all things fro' and you've just filled a void so to speak :)

Hey, thanks a lot for the comment (you should do it more often!) :D

And yeah... there isn't much CC for black sims and nothing like this, which is why I was motivated to spend so much time making it.

No kidding!  All my black sims either have the same dreads or have soaked their heads in gallons of chemical relaxers.

Man, I So LOVE YOU...

This is beautiful work I've been waiting around for hair like this so I can make my self-sim. That and I can't make hair myself lol (short fuse and completely lazy). Thank you sooooo much & I'm sure me and a whole lot of simmers appreciate your very hard work on this hair I don't even care that it has a high poly count. :D Keep doing such great work <3

Nouk has made a frohawk in the past, but I used no part of her mesh or textures to make this, and if you look at both meshes, they are obviously quite different.

I looked up a few reference

I looked up a few reference pics for what you're describing, and it looks really cute. I'd like to give it a try in the future (after I get a couple other projects I've been thinking of out of the way), but no promises! I'm still new to meshing hair, and hairs take me a long time, and I don't know if I'll be able to pull it off.

thank you for your reply..i

thank you for your reply..i would try it my self but i dont know the tools to get started do u know the tools that u would need

If you've never meshed

If you've never meshed before, then hairs are definitely going to be too advanced for you.  I recommend practicing on modifying more simple objects and CAS items, like in this tutorial.

If you're already an experienced mesher, then you can go ahead and try making hair.  This tutorial lists the programs and plugins you would need for hair.
